GOP list: 42 ways Pelosi-Biden $3.5 trillion bill will ‘wreck America’

Here’s one thing that GOP leaders and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi agree on when it comes to the nation’s unenthusiastic reaction to President Joe Biden’s massive $3.5 trillion spend-and-tax plan. Both sides think their messaging stinks.

Pelosi blamed her media allies Tuesday, saying out loud what top Democrats feel when it comes to their supportive press.

Asked by CBS about doing better “messaging,” Pelosi said, “Well, I think you all could do a better job of selling it, to be very frank with you.”

At the same time, the head of the House Republican Study Committee, Indiana Rep. Jim Banks, was addressing polls showing majorities supporting the spending.

“This bill is a disaster and should be polling at 20%. We all know it,” he wrote in a memo to members. He added, “So, how can we explain the 52-55% approval it’s garnered in the polls? The chief reason that it keeps polling favorably is because we haven’t done a good enough job letting the American people know what’s in it.”

He showed that in a previous fight to tackle Biden’s spending with effective messaging, polling support was cut in half. So, to help, he had his staff comb through the Democratic bill to find 42 key reasons it would hurt the nation, including perpetuating the job crisis, raising taxes, and letting China take over the world’s economy.

“Luckily, due to Democrats’ stalled legislative agenda, we have bill text and a window into their plan. If we effectively communicate about this bill, we’ll see those poll numbers drop,” he promised in the memo below.

“Please read and share these points on social media, newsletters, opinion-editorials, and whatever other format you use to get your message out,” he added.
