Big problems: 86% GOP see ‘more’ fraud in mail-in voting

Nearly 9-in-10 Republicans believe that the increase in mail-in voting will lead to more voter fraud, a broad condemnation of the process currently under fire in vote counts around the nation.

In the latest Rasmussen Reports survey, 86% of the GOP said it will lead to bigger problems, including 44% who said they are “very concerned.”

And they aren’t alone. Overall, 59% said that they are concerned the practice used by millions in the presidential election will result in more fraud. Among Democrats, Rasmussen said that 36% were concerned about future fraud in mail-in ballots.

President Trump has accused several states of ballot fraud and, as a result, is not conceding the election to Joe Biden, who currently has more votes than Trump.

Millions voted early in the election, some concerned about standing in line during the coronavirus crisis, others simply worried about long lines.

In several states, Democrats dominated the early voting, both in person and via mail. And several states have stayed open in accepting mail-in ballots, angering Trump and others who feel that Election Day is when voting should end.

Despite the findings, several states are eager to expand early mail-in voting.

In 2020, it appeared that voting early for many was simply checking the Election Day box since Rasmussen found that 58% made their mind up about who to vote for a month earlier.
