Utah Sen. Mitt Romney on Tuesday brushed aside Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s call for a red state-blue state political “divorce” as “loony,” prompting the Georgia lawmaker to call the losing 2012 GOP presidential candidate “so bad” and uninspiring.
One day after Romney hit out at Greene in comments to reporters, she told Secrets that his criticism wasn’t worth much of a response.

“Mitt Romney is so bad I couldn’t even vote for him for president against Barack Obama” in 2012, Greene told Secrets as she was traveling through Georgia.

“He was so uninspiring there was nothing to vote for,” she added.
Greene continued to add to her explanation on how a national political “divorce” would work in a tweet describing how the military would operate.
“In a National Divorce, our Department of Defense would defend America’s borders not be on the verge of WWIII with Russia and China because our overly powerful federal warlords serve Ukraine first,” she tweeted.
Since first calling for a red state-blue state divide nearly two years ago in response to decades of division, Greene has been laying out how it would work, drawing both applause from some and charges of “traitor” from others.
When her latest call received so much attention this week, Romney lashed out and yesterday told Utah reporters, “You know, I think Abraham Lincoln dealt with that kind of insanity.”

He added, “Look, there’s no question, but there are some people in my party and in the other party that say things to try to get a headline and get people to send them money, and that happens to lead in today’s loony Left … I should say loony Right.”
Romney has hinted that he is considering another run for president next year. Greene is one of former President Donald Trump’s closest advisers.
