Psychiatrist who called Trump ‘dangerous’ warns about Biden

The psychiatrist who authored a book calling President Trump’s mental health “dangerous” isn’t so sure about leading 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

In an interview with conservative radio host Mark Levin, Yale University professor Bandy X. Lee suggested she has issues with the former vice president, but her concerns aren’t as great as those she has with the president.

The author of The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 37 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President, told Levin that she hadn’t studied Biden.

But when asked about the mental health of Biden, she told him, “It seems like it’s not so perfect.” She added, “But compared to Donald Trump he is quite better off, and I believe he has the insight and integrity to pass off tasks if he were to become incapacitated. I’m not sure I can say the same about Donald Trump.”

Biden remains the Democratic front-runner despite a recent string of misstatements and verbal flubs. Trump has dubbed him “Crazy Joe.”

This week he assured voters, “I want to be clear, I’m not going nuts.”

Lee has appeared on several TV stations to criticize Trump.

In the interview, Lee had difficulty pushing back on Levin’s charges that her warnings about Trump were politically motivated. She said she voted for Hillary Rodham Clinton, but no Republicans ever. She said she was both a conservative and liberal.

She also denied she had ever diagnosed Trump and said her views were based on distant observations.

Levin mocked her analysis of Trump. “No offense, you sound like a palm reader,” he said.
