National Donut Day poll: Cream-filled No. 1, glazed No. 2, 11% don’t eat them

As National Donut Day approaches Friday, the cream-filled has been crowned America’s favorite in a stunning defeat of the ever-popular glazed, according to a new survey.

Ipsos polling asked the nation a simple question: “What is your favorite kind of donut?”

It apparently was a tough one for many, including one respondent who told Ipsos, “You can’t make me pick one when they are all favorites.”

The findings:

1 — Cream-filled, 22 percent.

2 — Plain glazed, 18 percent.

3 — Jelly-filled and chocolate cake, 11 percent.

4 — Old fashioned cake, 10 percent.

5 — Chocolate glazed, 6 percent.

6 — Topped with sprinkles, 5 percent.

Most shocking of all, 11 percent said they don’t eat donuts.

And some 6 percent said they eat other kinds of donuts.
