The Republican Attorneys General Association recorded back-to-back fundraising records and has more than doubled the money raised by its rival, the Democratic Attorneys General Association.
The GOP group, which supports Republicans running for attorney general, has raised $26.6 million for the fall elections. It raised $5.5 million in the second quarter, the second time in a row it busted the $5 million mark.
The Democratic group raised over $1.5 million in the second quarter, for a total of $12.2 million for the election. It has also been on a spending binge.
“We have been able to repeatedly break fundraising records because of an outstanding commitment from our chair and each Republican attorney general,” said RAGA Executive Director Scott Will. “As November comes into focus, two key constants remain for RAGA: we have better candidates and superior resources.”
RAGA Chairman and Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge added, “Come November, voters across America will know that Republican candidates for attorney general are their fighters and they will always uphold the rule of law.”
