Evangelicals and Protestants continue to give President Trump their strong support, and that includes a minority of blacks, according to a new survey.
In the latest Pew Research Center survey, white evangelical Protestants overwhelming support Trump. Nearly 7 in 10 approve of his job as president.
Pew found that among most Christians, Trump has largely kept his support steady since taking office, even among Catholics and the “unaffiliated.”

What’s more, while a sliver of the larger group, 12 percent of black Protestants have continued to back the president over the past two years.
Trump has bolstered his support with moves to tighten abortion restrictions and protect religious freedoms. He has also won applause for his judicial picks.
Of all religious groups, white evangelicals have and continue to approve of Trump the most.
His support falls below 50 percent with Catholics at 36 percent, though it’s 44 percent among white Catholics. Pew added that “52 percent of white Catholics who attend Mass weekly approve of Trump.”
