It’s not just Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats that voters plan to throw under the bus on Election Day.
A leading nonpartisan political consultant on Tuesday predicted that Republicans are also set to take control of the Senate — and by a decent margin.

Citing the most recent polling in nine battleground states that will determine which party controls the upper chamber, Ron Faucheux said that a 52-seat majority for Republicans is setting up.
“Based on our polling averages, Republicans are still ahead in six of the nine battleground states. If the GOP ultimately wins these six races, they would have a gain of two Senate seats (Georgia and Nevada). That would be enough to give them a 52-seat Senate majority,” he wrote in his email blog “Lunchtime Politics.”
He added: “Poll averages also show the parties that now hold seats in New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Washington, Arizona, and Ohio are ahead in the current polls, which means no party pick-ups either way in these seven states — at least not for now. Keep in mind: Most of these averages are based on small margins that could easily shift in the days ahead.”
His note came as the libertarian candidate in Arizona announced he was leaving the race and endorsing Republican Blake Masters in his tight race with Sen. Mark Kelly. Some experts have suggested that could push the seat to Masters, giving the GOP a potential 53-seat majority.

What’s more, other polling shows a continued voter shift to the GOP and a focus on Republican issues. Rasmussen Reports, for example, released a survey Tuesday showing that most voters are driven by the economy and inflation.
