Author: Michelle O ‘looks down her nose’ at Clintons, ‘do anything for power’

The author of a new book about presidential first ladies and their relationships said Tuesday that Michelle Obama “looks down her nose” at Bill and Hillary Clinton, offended by the former first couple’s drive for power.

“Former aides tell me that when Michelle looks at Hillary Clinton she looks down her nose at them. You know there’s a sense that the Clintons will do anything for power and the Obamas think that there’s something a little bit unseemly about that,” said First Women author Kate Andersen Brower.

She added that the current first lady remains hurt and upset at some of the critical things Hillary Clinton said about Barack Obama in their 2008 presidential primary contest, won by Obama.

“It’s very hard for Michelle Obama to forgive that and she really has not forgiven Hillary Clinton for some of the things she said in 2008 about her husband,” said Brower.

The first lady’s office has disputed the author’s characterization of the Clinton-Obama relationship in Brower’s First Women, the Grace and Power of America’s Modern First Ladies, published by Harper.

In the “Today” show interview with Andrea Mitchell, Brower said that Michelle Obama is closer to former first lady Laura Bush.

Should Clinton win, it’s likely that Bill Clinton will be given a jet and sent off. “I think he’s going to go out of town a lot,” said Brower.
