Sessions: Trump ‘creating a more vital, vibrant Republican Party’

Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions has some advice for GOP candidates nervous about running on a ticket headed by renegade Republican Donald Trump: Worry instead about building support like Trump has.

“I think the key to being successful in November is to listen to the voice of the American people,” said Sessions, a Trump national security advisor.

“What Trump is doing is bringing in millions of new voters into the Republican Party and our candidates need to be aware of that and be understanding this plea form the American people and if they do I think the chances they’re prospects will improve substantially because you are bringing in new voters that turn a close election into a solid victory,” he told Secrets.

Sessions said keeping focused on policy and issues that impact blue collar workers, like trade, jobs and immigration, will save the day.

“We have the potential of creating a more vital, vibrant Republican Party that’s appealing to people who go to work every day. You cannot win elections if you aren’t competitive among people who make less than $50,000 a year in salary. That’s nearly half the country. So we’ve got to listen to the concerns. Things aren’t going well out there, he said, adding, “This is an opportunity for the Republicans to bring new voters in.”
