The student group that got the Supreme Court to end affirmative action in college admissions reviews is now targeting the nation’s military academies.
But there’s an unexpected hitch. The effort has been slapped down as harmful by the leading international presswire outlet that refused to distribute a press release about it.

EIN Presswire told Students for Fair Admissions that it would not accept the press release, citing an “intent to harm” clause in its rules and restrictions. “This is to inform you that we have declined your press release due to its content: Intent to Harm,” the presswire said without any further explanation.
At issue was a press release from Students for Fair Admissions to promote its new website WestPointNotFair.org. The website seeks to connect to applicants rejected by West Point and the Navy and Air Force academies.
The release noted that in ending racial preferences at Harvard University and the University of North Carolina, the Supreme Court said it wasn’t including military academies.
Liberals said that by making race a key factor in those it lets in, the academies are fostering diversity. But the Students for Fair Admissions said that, instead, the preferences promote discrimination.
“That’s unfair and unconstitutional,” the group said.
“As many retired military leaders have observed, the culture of the armed services requires that each warfighter see fellow warfighters as totally committed teammates, where race, ethnicity, and heritage, while respected, do not matter,” the rejected press release said. It added, “It is the hope of Students for Fair Admissions that the service academies will soon end the use of racial classifications and preferences in their admissions policies. Failure to do so may result in polarizing litigation.”

There was nothing obviously hateful or harmful in the press release.
But EIN Presswire cited its policy anyway. It says: “EIN Presswire does not distribute content intended to harm or exact revenge upon an individual or group. This content is defined as anything deemed intended to: incite, advocate or express hatred, bigotry, racism or gratuitous violence; promote personal opinions attacking an individual or group; maliciously affect a company’s stock; or stalk, defame, defraud, degrade, shame or victimize an individual or group.”
