Newly minted 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg has surged to third in a new national survey, jumping over more established candidates in just one month.
He sits at 9% in the latest Emerson Poll out Monday. That puts him at third, behind Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and former Vice President Joe Biden. They are ahead by a wide margin, with Sanders at 29% and Biden at 24%.
