Ted Nugent planning a hunt with ‘President Romney’

Dismissing the dust-up over his anti-Obama comments as “doing God’s work,” rocker and celebrated bowhunter Ted Nugent reveals that he’s already planning a winter hunt with “our new president,” Mitt Romney.

“We are actually talking about that,” he tells Peterson’s Bowhunting, a sporting and hunting magazine. “I will be hunting every day as usual all September, October, November, December, January, February and March, so I would welcome self-evident, truth-driven patriots including our new president and his family,” he adds.

Nugent, who has endorsed Romney, came under the gun when he said during a recent NRA convention that if President Obama is reelected “I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.” The U.S. Secret Service plans to question his comments, which fans shrugged off as simple hyperbole characteristic of “the Nuge.”

About his comments, he said, “When you are doing God’s work, the devils go berserk. That the enemies of America and freedom so despise me is a powerful sign I represent all the right stuff.”

The magazine asked Nugent about Romney’s lack of a track record of hunting and if he will really be a friend of hunters. Nugent didn’t miss a beat, saying, “My serious conversations with Mitt Romney and his son Josh has convinced me beyond a shadow of a doubt that Mitt will be a vastly superior POTUS than the current monsters. He will stand with us for improved, sensible, scientific based hunting regulations and rights for all the desperately critical improvements our wonderful country needs now.”
