President Biden has found a group that likes him even more than Democrats.
Zogby Analytics pollster Jonathan Zogby told us that the new president is scoring sky-high approval ratings among business leaders, especially those in midsized firms.
What’s more, key international businesses also like Biden even more than their own country’s leader.
Key findings from the latest Zogby Poll:
- 82% of U.S. business leaders approve of Biden.
- 84% of leaders of firms with annual revenue of $200 million to $250 million approve.
- 71% of leaders of firms making $1 billion or more approve.
“U.S. business leaders are excited about Joe Biden!” said Zogby’s analysis.

But so do global businesses. He polled in Canada, France, England, and Germany and reported these approval ratings:
- In England, Biden tops Prime Minister Boris Johnson 78%-58%.
- In France, Biden leads President Emmanuel Macron 73%-55%.
- In Germany, Biden leads Chancellor Angela Merkel 77%-68%.
- In Canada, Biden edges Prime Minister Justin Trudeau 69%-64%.
The results may be part of a honeymoon Biden is experiencing with business leaders, but it is nearly 20 points higher than for Democrats. What’s more, the coronavirus has dulled the shine on some foreign leaders.
Zogby questioned how long Biden could keep his ratings in the United States high among business leaders. But he suggested it could last if the new president successfully tackles the vaccine crisis and steadies the economy.
He concluded, “While Biden is wildly popular at the moment, and more popular than his colleagues in their own home countries, his balloon may burst. We have hit a major milestone in coronavirus deaths (topping 500,000), the vaccine needs to get to more people, kids are not in school full-time, and many people are hurting financially. As time goes on, more voters could harshen their view of Biden, as all of these problems are under his tent now. Blaming Trump can only work for so long. On the other hand, if Biden successfully handles these problems, his favorability at home and abroad could go to the moon!”
