Battle Stations: Don Jr., Eric ‘Punching back’ at Cohen

While their dad was 8,295 miles away meeting with the leader of North Korea to diffuse nuclear tensions between the two nations, President Trump’s sons led the war on Michael Cohen on Twitter, calling him a liar and convict.

Eric Trump slapped Cohen and House Democrats hosting the former Trump lawyer, who accused the president of several bad deeds at a hearing that was overshadowing the U.S.-North Korea summit.

“It is a national disgrace that on the eve of historic peace talks between the USA & North Korea, the Democrats in the House orchestrate this clownshow. The accomplishments of ⁦@realDonaldTrump⁩ are nothing short of incredible especially in the face of such hate & adversity,” Eric Trump tweeted.

Donald Trump Jr. also manned the battle stations, tweeting criticism of the hearing.

He highlighted several issues during Cohen’s testimony, taking specific offense at Cohen’s claim he never sought a White House job. “I bet there dozens of people that would swear under oath that this is a lie. Including me,” he tweeted.

Eric added, “Michael was lobbying EVERYONE to be ‘Chief of Staff.’ It was the biggest joke in the campaign and around the office. Did he just perjure himself again?”

A source close to the Trump family said that the plan was for the sons to go on offense while their father was busy in Vietnam.

“Don and Eric aren’t going to just sit back and let a known liar and convicted felon like Michael Cohen slander them and their family without punching back,” said the source.

Don Trump’s Twitter feed also acted as a clearinghouse for associates slamming Cohen, including Arthur Schwartz, Bo Dietl, Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk, former Speaker Newt Gingrich, and Rep. Mark Meadows.
