Fox’s Chris Wallace sees Trump winning Sanders voters, driving Hillary ‘nuts’

Claiming he thought Donald Trump’s initial support was simply a “summer fling,” Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace now believes the businessman is a viable candidate and one who could even win the backing of Sen. Bernie Sanders voters.

What’s more, Wallace told the National Association of Counties convention meeting in Washington that he’d pay cash to see Trump debate Hillary Clinton because the Republican would make the Democrat “nuts.”

Asked if he felt Trump is viable, Wallace told a questioner “Yes I do.” Wallace added, “I thought it’s a summer fling. He had this rise in the polls, and it wasn’t a summer fling. It continued, it continues now.”

Wallace said that victory for Trump isn’t assured and that he needs to both expand his base and act more presidential.

But if he wins, and Clinton beats Sanders, he sees Trump winning some of the Democratic-Socialist’s supporters.

“Were he to win the nomination, a lot of people on the Sanders side who are feeling that same frustration, the same sense of income inequality, the same sense that there’s an inside game, that they are playing in, that the rich guys are playing in but the average folks are not, I think a lot of those people are potential Trump supporters,” said Wallace.

And he is tickled at the possibility of a Trump-Clinton matchup.

“I would pay money to see Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton on a campaign debate stage, I would literally pay my own money to see that because I think that he would drive her nuts,” he said.
