President Obama arrived at Nationals Park shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday to bolster Democrats, who were tied with Republicans 2-2 in the third inning of the annual congressional baseball game.
He briefly interacted with the crowd, asking “are we having fun?” before returning to House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and team manager Rep. Dale Kildee of Michigan.
No formal remarks are expected, according to a White House official.
He is at the game presumably to root for the Democrats but more likely to push reluctant Democrats to vote on Friday to grant him trade promotion authority, the rule for the terms of debate of which only eight Democrats voted for Thursday.
