The Trump White House in review: Week 114

Attorney General William Barr released a summary of Robert Mueller’s report. President Trump claimed it as a victory after the two-year investigation, saying: “There was no collusion with Russia, there was no obstruction and none whatsoever. And it was a complete and total exoneration.”

The president pledged to reverse course on a proposed $18 million funding cut for the Special Olympics. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos defended the move to defund the organization, saying that it is an attempt to reduce her agency’s federal footprint and that the Special Olympics is a private organization that raises $100 million each year.

Trump also spoke out against the Green New Deal at a rally in Michigan, saying it’s the Democratic Party’s extreme attempt at a $100 trillion government takeover.
