Former Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz says he’s not interested in joining President Trump’s legal team amid the Russia investigation because he’s enjoying being retired.
Dershowitz is often on cable TV defending Trump against claims his campaign colluded with Russia during the presidential campaign and that he obstructed justice.
“I’m not going to become the president’s lawyer,” Dershowitz told the Boston Globe on Thursday. “I’m enjoying my retirement. I don’t want to move to Washington. I don’t want to be a lawyer.”
Trump on Wednesday quoted Dershowitz, who is also opposed to the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller.
“There never should have been a Special Council appointed because there was no probable cause for believing that there was any crime, collusion or otherwise, or obstruction of justice!” Trump tweeted.
