WH Remains Focused on Raising the Minimum Wage

Despite the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, the White House is focused on making the argument for raising the minimum wage. In just a few minutes, Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest will be joined on the phone with Governor Malloy of Connecticut, Governor Chafee of Rhode Island, and Governor Shumlin of Vermont to make that case.

“Today, Sunday, March 2, at 1:15 PM ET, Principal Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest will host an on-the-record press conference call to preview the President’s week ahead, where he will continue to focus on expanding opportunity for all Americans.  Additionally, Governor Malloy of Connecticut, Governor Chafee of Rhode Island, and Governor Shumlin of Vermont will join the call to highlight the President’s upcoming event on minimum wage and the importance of giving hardworking Americans the raise they deserve,” reads an email from the White House to members of the press.
