White House says it doesn’t ‘matter’ where Biden got COVID-19

The White House is adamant that it is unimportant how President Joe Biden contracted COVID-19.

“I don’t think that matters,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Thursday. “I think what matters is we prepared for this moment.”

“We knew this was going to happen,” she added later. “The moment we’re in right now is what matters.”

Biden was found to have the virus Thursday as part of his normal testing cadence after last being negative on Tuesday. When asked whether he had symptoms, he complained of a “running nose,” “dry cough,” and being a “little tired,” according to Jean-Pierre. Understanding the cause of Biden’s infection should dictate the contact tracing process.
