Obama Visits Wounded Troops—With Photographer

President Obama arrived with his personal photographer earlier today at Walter Reed National

Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland to visit wounded troops.

Here’s the pool report of his arrival:

 

President Obama touched down at the landing field at Walter Reed NationalMilitary Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., at 2:20 p.m. He stepped offMarine One two minutes later, accompanied by Pete Souza.At 2:23 p.m., the motorcade was rolling and President Obama arrived atBuilding One at 2:26 p.m. to visit wounded troops. Souza is Obama’s personal White House photographer. 

A little more than an hour later, Obama left. Here’s the pool report from his departure:

 

At 3:41 p.m., President Obama’s motorcade left Building One at Walter ReedNational Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. After winding through theWalter Reed campus, he arrived at the landing field at 3:45 p.m.President Obama walked across the field an boarded Marine One at 3:46 p.m.He was wheels up at 3:49 p.m. for the short flight back to the White House.Information from the White House about his private visits with woundedtroops is forthcoming.

A White House official provided the following background information aboutPresident Obama’s visit to Walter Reed this afternoon:During his visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center today, thePresident met with 16 wounded service members – 10 Soldiers, 5 Marines and1 NATO Forces Member. While at the hospital, the President awarded 2 purplehearts and took part in 1 promotion ceremony.
