White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed her full response to a reporter who she accused of “constantly bombarding [her] phone with Democrat talking points.”
HuffPost reached out to the Trump administration over the weekend to inquire about who had picked Budapest as the location for the summit to host negotiations between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin over the war in Ukraine. Leavitt responded sarcastically to reporter S.V. Dáte, writing that “your mom” picked the location.
Leavitt suggested in an X post Monday that others “take a look at @svdate’s feed” because “it reads like an anti-Trump personal diary.”
“For context, S.V. Dáte of the Huffington Post is not a journalist interested in the facts. He is a left-wing hack who has consistently attacked President Trump for years and constantly bombards my phone with Democrat talking points,” Leavitt wrote. “Activists who masquerade as real reporters do a disservice to the profession.”
Leavitt’s X post included a screenshot of her full correspondence with Dáte. Leavitt told the reporter, “it’s funny to me that you actually consider yourself a journal [sic]. You are a far left hack who nobody takes seriously, including your colleagues in the media, they just don’t tell you that to your face.”
“Stop texting me your disingenuous, biased, and bull**** questions,” Leavitt added.
Dáte continued the spat on X and responded to Leavitt’s post.
“Feel better now?” Dáte wrote. “Now can you answer the question? Please and thank you.”
WHITE HOUSE RESPONDS TO PRESS INQUIRIES WITH ‘YOUR MOM’ JOKES
White House spokesman Steven Cheung also responded to reporters’s questions with a “your mom” joke.
Leavitt joins several members of the Trump administration who have not shied away from online feuds.
