President Donald Trump is hosting Republican senators in the White House Rose Garden for a lunch at noon on Tuesday.
The luncheon comes on the 21st day of the government shutdown, and congressional Democrats and Republicans seem no closer to agreeing on a resolution to end the lapse in funding.

Several Senate Republicans, including Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD), spoke out yesterday against Paul Ingrassia, the Trump-appointed nominee to lead the Office of Special Counsel.
Their condemnation of the nominee came after several racist and antisemitic remarks Ingrassia allegedly made in a group text were leaked to the press.
