Children in Donald Trump and Melania costumes at White House halloween party go viral

Two children dressed like President Trump and first lady Melania Trump met the real couple while trick or treating at the White House.

“Besides the usual array of kids dressed up as super heroes and fairy queens, The Trumps were tickled by two kids dressed up as them. The Pres had them turn around so the cameras could get the real Trumps and the impersonators,” CBS White House correspondent Mark Knoller tweeted, accompanied by a picture of the youngsters with the Trumps, which has received thousands of accounts favoriting the tweet.

While looking over the festivities, Trump spotted the duo and waved them over to take pictures with him and the first lady.

Most years, the president and first lady hand out candy to costume-clad kids. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, treats were given out separately as trick-or-treaters walked a path along the South Lawn.

Guests over the age of two were required to wear face coverings and maintain social distancing, while staff handing out candy had to follow the same rules while wearing gloves.

The White House was also decorated with bright-colored leaves, chrysanthemums, and pumpkins.
