The Air Force will soon roll out a new paint job for its presidential and VIP airline fleet.
The new colors — red, white, gold, and dark blue — as seen in new renderings, will appear on the Boeing 747-8 jet donated by Qatar and two 747-8 airplanes that Boeing intends to convert into the next-generation VC-25B Air Force One. The paint scheme will also be applied to C-32 aircraft typically reserved for high-ranking White House officials, including Vice President JD Vance.

“The Air Force is implementing a new paint scheme requirement (red, white, gold, and dark blue) for VC-25B as well as the additional executive airlift fleet, which will include the new 747-8i and four C-32 aircraft,” a Department of the Air Force spokesperson told the Washington Examiner. “The C-32s will be painted during regularly scheduled maintenance. The first C-32 has been painted and is expected to be delivered to the Air Force in the next few months.”
The decision will rid Air Force One and other airplanes used by the executive branch of their light-blue color scheme established during the Kennedy administration in the early 1960s.

In an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity last year, President Donald Trump said he wanted the new paint scheme to reflect the American flag.
Trump once shared a model of his preferred color design for Air Force One during his first term, but the plan was later canceled by the Biden administration.
