‘No regrets’: Biden insists there’s ‘nothing’ to classified documents controversy

President Joe Biden chastised a reporter who he expected would ask him about his classified documents controversy after surveying California’s storm damage.

“I think you’re gonna find there’s nothing there. I have no regrets. I’m following what the lawyers have told me they want me to do. It’s exactly what we’re doing. There’s no ‘there’ there,” Biden said Thursday.

BIDEN’S DOCUMENTS SCANDAL CASTS SHADOW OVER PRESIDENCY

While Biden’s personal attorneys and the White House have pledged to cooperate with the Justice Department‘s special counsel investigation, the president ignored a follow-up query about whether they would also work with House Republican-led investigations.

“We found a handful of documents that were filed in the wrong place. We immediately turned them over to the archives and Justice Department. We’re fully cooperating and looking forward to getting this resolved quickly,” he added.

The White House has been criticized for its lack of transparency after documents bearing the highest classification marking were discovered last November before the 2022 midterm elections as his legal team was closing his think tank’s Washington, D.C., office. More records were uncovered in his Wilmington, Delaware, garage and what is believed to be his personal library in December, as well as twice last week.
