White House Inadvertently Posts Details of President Obama’s Travel Schedule on Website

Details of President Obama’s travel to Warren, Michigan this Wednesday intended only for the press are revealed in an apparent inadvertent posting of a media advisory on the White House website over the weekend. The posting, which includes a reminder that “MEDIA LOGISTICS BELOW ARE FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY, NOT FOR REPORTING,” includes the estimated arrival and departure times for Air Force One in Warren, plus specific times and locations for media access. A partial screenshot of the advisory is below:

In a brief response to the question of whether or not public posting of this information would require any adjustment to the president’s schedule, Taylor McPhail of the White House press team says, “For planning purposes, timing has not changed.” As of Tuesday morning, the advisory was still on the White House website.

The slip is not completely unprecedented, with another such posting appearing just weeks ago when the president and his family departed from their vacation in Martha’s Vineyard.

The president and Jill Biden, who is accompanying the president on this week’s Michigan trip, are scheduled to give remarks “on the importance of investing in skills and growing the economy” at Macomb Community College.
