President Obama has arrived in Chicago, where he’ll spend the night before two public events in his hometown. The president did not travel with his family.
He’s now dining out with top adviser Valerie Jarrett and various friends, according to the White House pool report. They’re at the steak house RPM Steak, where a nice cut can cost up tp $155, according to the restaurant’s website.

In the morning, the President will attend a campaign event with Illinois Governor Pat Quinn. This event is closed press.
In the afternoon, the President will deliver remarks on the economy at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Following up on the President’s address to the United Nations on the role American leadership plays in the world, the President will make the case for what has always fueled America’s leadership abroad and here at home — America’s economic greatness. The President’s remarks are open to pre-credentialed media.

While it’s clear the president’s family wasn’t aboard Air Force One, it’s not clear whether any of his family members traveled separately to spend the rare night in their pre-White House hometown.
