VIDEO — Weekly Examiner: Eric Holder resigns

Eric Holder, the nation’s first black attorney general, announced Thursday that he’ll be stepping down from his post as soon as his successor is confirmed. Holder served as part of the Obama administration for five and a half years — the fourth longest tenure of any attorney general.

President Obama addressed the United Nations General Assembly in New York City this week to speak on a range of topics including the Ebola virus, Russian aggression and the fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.

Police Chief Thomas Jackson of Ferguson, Mo., issued an apology to the family of Michael Brown, the unarmed teenage who was shot and killed by a Ferguson police officer in August.
