Secret Service agents rushed to pick up the president after he fell to the ground at around 9:40 a.m., with the group offering scattered cheers as he stood back up.
“I’m good,” he assured onlookers.
Biden fell while trying to get his shoes out of the pedal, he said. He did not sustain any injuries, according to the White House.
“As the president said, his foot got caught on the pedal while dismounting, and he is fine. No medical attention is needed,” a spokesperson said. “The president looks forward to spending the rest of the day with his family.”

Biden took a few questions from reporters before riding away, confirming he plans to speak with Chinese President Xi Jinping “soon” and is considering whether to lift Chinese tariffs.
The fall may be the latest political fodder used by Biden’s critics against the 79-year-old president, whose age and mental acuity have been at the center of discussions on whether the incumbent is fit for office. Biden is the oldest president ever to hold office and would be 82 if elected to a second term in 2024.
