Secretary of State Marco Rubio came to the defense of Vice President JD Vance regarding his recent plea to Europe that called for a commitment to free speech.

Rubio attended the Munich Security Conference with Vance this weekend, which was Vance’s first foreign trip since taking office as vice president. In his first international address, Vance assured other leaders that “under Donald Trump’s leadership, we may disagree with your views, but we will fight to defend your right to offer it in the public square, agree, or disagree.” During a segment on CBS News’s Face the Nation Sunday, Rubio faced questions about the speech.
