Washington Examiner chief political correspondent Byron York said the United States’s involvement with Venezuela could affect President Donald Trump‘s bid to focus on affordability, arguing voters generally don’t care about foreign policy.

On Saturday, hours after the U.S. captured former Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro, Trump said the U.S. is “going to run” Venezuela until “a safe, proper and judicious transition” is accomplished. York expressed skepticism about the Trump administration’s plans to “run” Venezuela, saying the idea of “nursing the country back to health” is “a reason for real concern.”
