The Daily Outrage: Slow food

WHO: Wisconsin Institute for Sustainable AgricultureWHAT: The Institute received a $400,000 earmark from Senate Agriculture Subcommittee Chairman Herb Kohl, D-Wis., to promote “slow food” — as opposed to fast food.

WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: According to Citizens Against Government Waste, the institute’s mission has expanded over the past decade from dealing with issues of healthy eating to include “environmental and sustainable agriculture, social justice, and food sovereignty.” Whatever that is, taxpayers shouldn’t be paying for it.

WHERE TO VENT: Call Kohl’s office at: 202-224-5653.
