Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., dinged failed Republican senate candidate Scott Brown this week, poking fun at the fact that her one-time GOP opponent has campaigned in multiple states.
“[W]e hear he’s going to Maine,” Warren joked Tuesday on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” an obvious dig at Brown having campaigned — unsuccessfully — for Senate seats in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Brown, who lost his seat to Warren in 2012, lost his midterm race last Tuesday against incumbent Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire.
Warren, who is considered by many to be a potential 2016 presidential candidate, appeared on the late night comedy show to promote her uber-populist book, A Fighting Chance.
“I’m somebody who is, you know, the daughter of a janitor who ended up as a United States Senator. America is a great country, but I never kid myself. I grew up in an America that was investing in kids, investing in the future,” she said.
“And I believe that’s the America we should be in. I’m gonna’ be out there fighting for it. I’m going to be fighting for it every single day,” she added to thunderous applause.
