Dim Bulb: Richard Trumka

Who: AFL-CIO head Richard Trumka

What: Trumka argued that, even if Gov. Scott Walker, R-Wis., wins his recall election, the unions have already won by intimidating other state governments into avoiding the collective bargaining reforms that Walker pursued.

Why it’s dim: Trumka and Big Labor have devoted themselves to defeating Walker. If he wins, they lose, and so such a statement can only be taken as hedging against a loss.

Cure: Wisconsin voters can apply the cure, which would surely encourage other states to adopt similar reforms.
