What: On the House floor Wednesday, the Tennessee Democrat and Barack Obama supporter said: “Barack Obama was a community organizer like Jesus. … Pontius Pilate was a governor.” Why it’s dim: Cohen’s remark was a thinly veiled jab at Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, Alaska’s feisty governor. But there’s no comparison between Palin — who courageously took on environmentalists and big oil companies in her state — and the weak, indecisive Roman governor who was more afraid of public opinion than doing what was right.
