Major League Baseball, the Democratic Party, and several journalists for legacy media outlets lined up against the Atlanta Braves this season. The team responded by winning the World Series.
With a 7-0 victory over the Houston Astros on Tuesday, the Braves clinched their first World Series title since 1995. They did it despite losing their best player, Ronald Acuna Jr., to injury in July. And they did it despite liberals trying to shroud the club in phony controversies all season long.

Atlanta was supposed to host MLB All-Star Weekend. The event was supposed to honor Hank Aaron, who had died in January 2021. Aaron played for the Braves for 21 of his 23 years in the league, nine of which were played in Atlanta. (The team was previously the Milwaukee Braves.)
Instead, the Democratic Party launched a pressure campaign against the state of Georgia over a voting law that actually expanded voting opportunities for most Georgia residents. President Joe Biden ridiculously called it “Jim Crow on steroids.” And Major League Baseball folded, accepting the partisan lies and moving the game from Atlanta’s Truist Park to Denver.
But the Braves trudged on and instead got to celebrate Aaron’s legacy in Game 3 of the World Series in Atlanta.
By then, journalists had already picked a new fight with the team, declaring that its name and its tomahawk chop cheer were racist. As in all such cases, most Native Americans don’t actually care about the Braves’ name or the chop. But (mostly white) journalists were outraged on their behalf and tried to push the racism accusations as the most important takeaway from the World Series.
None of it mattered. The Braves won two of their three games in Atlanta. Braves fans made sure the tomahawk chop was too loud to ignore. And, despite liberals dragging the Braves and their fans into the political mud twice in one season, it’s Atlanta who is celebrating a championship after refusing to fold to the mob.
Not sure the tomahawk chop has ever been louder in Atlanta. Love Braves fans going after woke culture. https://t.co/4yD4ChTrdh

It was a fantastic season for the Braves and for a city that had suffered its fair share of sports heartbreaks over the last few decades, made all the sweeter by liberals failing to try and drown the joys with their toxic obsession with politicizing everything. The Braves and their fans deserve to celebrate this one, as does anyone who enjoys keeping politics out of sports.
