Trump just picked an immigrant for his Cabinet

President-elect Trump picked Elaine Chao as his nominee for secretary of transportation. Chao is well-qualified for the job, having served as the secretary of labor for eight years under President George W. Bush and served as a deputy secretary of transportation for President George H.W. Bush.

It’s also worth noting that Chao is an immigrant. “An immigrant who arrived in America at the age of eight speaking no English, Secretary Chao’s experience transitioning to a new country has motivated her to dedicate most of her professional life to ensuring that all people have the opportunity to build better lives,” a biography on her personal website reads.
