The minority staff of the House Foreign Affairs Committee released a bombshell report this morning, concluding for the first time that “the preponderance of the evidence suggests SARS-CoV-2 was accidentally released from a Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) laboratory sometime prior to September 12, 2019.”
You should read the full report yourself, but the report bases its conclusions on a number of undisputed facts, including:
- A database of the lab’s samples and virus sequences was suddenly taken offline in the middle of the night on Sept. 12, 2019.
- Satellite imagery shows the highest daily volume of cars in the parking lots of five hospitals near WIV in September and October 2019.
- Searches for “cough” increased significantly in Wuhan on the Chinese search engine Baidu in September and October 2019.
- Athletes participating in the International Military Sports Council Military World Games starting Oct. 18, 2019, described Wuhan as a “ghost town” where “a city of 15 million people” were in “lockdown.” Many of these athletes got very sick and returned to countries where COVID-19 cases have since been confirmed before the outbreak became public. These games appear to be the first event.
- Scientists affiliated with WIV have since conspired to hide and cover up the extent of research being done at WIV.
The report specifically targets EcoHealth Alliance President Peter Daszak, whom the report accuses of being “the public face of a CCP disinformation campaign designed to suppress public discussion about a potential lab leak.”
These are pretty big accusations to level against anyone, especially someone who is so close ideologically and politically to Dr. Anthony Fauci, whose National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has given Daszak millions of taxpayer dollars. The report calls on Daszak to testify publicly, under oath, to Congress.
Will the Democrats call Daszak to testify? Does the Democratic Party care if taxpayer dollars were used, either intentionally or accidentally, to first spread a deadly pandemic and then to cover it up?
These are tough questions a Biden administration still tethered to Fauci will try and avoid at all costs.
