Brutal new poll has Biden 14 points underwater

The people’s judgment of President Joe Biden’s disastrous handling of Afghanistan is not being contained to Afghanistan, a new USA Today/Suffolk University poll found. A full 55% of the public now disapproves of Biden’s job as president, and he is underwater on every issue but COVID-19.

“Today, President Biden’s overall approval has taken a turn for the worse due to his awful job performance rating on Afghanistan,” Suffolk Political Research Center Director David Paleologos told USA Today. “His approval on immigration and the economy are also upside down. The only issue keeping him remotely in the game is his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, where he is barely at 50%.”

While a majority of people, 53%, still support Biden’s decision to remove troops from Afghanistan, 62% disapprove of how Biden has handled the withdrawal.

“He basically handed the Taliban all these weapons, and he’s inspired a resurgent ISIS now,” Aubrey Schlumbrecht told USA Today. “He is not even taking any responsibility. He says he owns it, but he’s blaming other people, and he’s blaming the Afghan people themselves.”

The White House is reportedly hoping that people will soon forget the chaos of Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan and return to other issues they care about.

This poll shows that prediction may fair as well as Biden’s assurance that it was “highly unlikely” the Taliban would take over Afghanistan.
