Democrats show how unserious and partisan they are when they tie impeachment of Trump to Kavanaugh

President Trump lies. He uses the Situation Room to make personal, political demands of foreign governments. He stokes division and desires an escalation of what he likes to call a “civil war.” We know this because he literally tweets it out, constantly.

So are Democrats trying to preserve the rule of law and punish abuse of power? Or is the impeachment push a partisan power grab?

The best evidence for the latter is the effort to tie impeachment of Trump to talk of impeaching Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, which is part of a shameful effort to delegitimize a court they fear could rule against them.

There’s not a shred of new evidence in the collapsing case against Kavanaugh, save for an exculpatory denial by Leland Keyser, who claims that the “allegation” against the Trump appointee is bogus. The accusation has gone from looking debatable last year, to looking downright debunked. Outside of the very online Left, the public, per the polling, appears to understand that.

And top tier (and bottom tier) 2020 Democrats are calling for his impeachment. They’re framing it as an exact parallel to the case against Trump.

Democrats cannot rail against Trump as a norm-destroying aberration of the Oval Office while using unprecedented and ruthless tactics to destroy the life of a Senate-approved Supreme Court Justice and try to delegitimize the court.
