Call a national emergency, women are getting pregnant!

Since the overturn of Roe v. Wade, Democrats have been calling on state lawmakers to codify it. Their reasoning? Too many women are getting pregnant.

Vice President Kamala Harris conveyed how urgently the White House wants lawmakers to codify Roe because “women are getting pregnant every day in America, and this is a real issue.”

Though this is contradictory to the woke narrative that men can also get pregnant, that does not seem to be addressed by Harris. Instead, it is a problem that women are getting pregnant because of the Supreme Court’s decision.

In an effort to combat the abortion ban, Harris tweeted that she would be traveling to Indiana on Monday to “meet with Indiana state legislators and advocates who are fighting on the frontlines to protect reproductive rights.”

Lawmakers in the state of Indiana have proposed bills that will ban a majority of abortion procedures but increase access to contraceptives. There has been a line of controversy within the state over how far the ban should go, especially following the rape of a 10-year-old girl from Ohio who got an abortion in Indiana.

“Our Indiana lawmakers are working very hard to come to an agreement on what legislation is best regarding protecting life in our state,” said state Sen. John Crane, a Republican. “My hope is that we can indeed get a bill passed that saves as many babies as possible while also providing support for women who find themselves faced with unexpected pregnancies.”

Some local citizens feel that along with a full abortion ban, there should also be increased funding to support women postpartum.

“The current bill is too lax. The bill would have to include no gray areas. It should ban rape and incest, too,” an Indiana resident said. “Mending a disgusting evil like that, with the shedding of innocent blood, isn’t a proper moral solution. I also think this bill needs to be immediately followed up with support for foster care and the reform of adoption.”

Since Republicans hold the majority in Indiana, they control the outcome of this bill.

“We as a society cannot fight for the rights of any person on any issue if they aren’t first given the right to life. To that end, our goal is to pass as strong a pro-life bill as possible,” Crane said.

Those who support banning the state’s abortion laws see Harris’s trip as pointless. The overturning of Roe granted the states the right to decide. Having the vice president of the United States attempt to sway the outcome of the bill with a certain agenda negates why it was overturned in the first place.

“If there’s anything we’ve learned in the past 19 months, it’s that we certainly don’t need any of Washington, DC in Indiana,” Indiana Republican Party Chairman Kyle Hupfer said in a statement on Sunday. “Kamala Harris is not only extremely unpopular among Hoosiers, but extremely bad at her job.”

“Her visit certainly brought increased attention to the abortion issue, but I can’t say whether it will change the outcome,” Crane said.

Why Democrats see women getting pregnant as a bad thing is beyond me, but what is more confusing is that they attack politicians like Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) for not accepting that men can get pregnant, yet the vice president can state that “women” are getting pregnant and not “persons” with the capacity to get pregnant. This double standard is next level. Until we face that, women getting pregnant every day is not a topic of interest.
