PHILADELPHIA — When Katie McGinty, who’s running for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania, took the stage, she included a section in her remarks about Donald Trump and her opponent, Sen. Pat Toomey. McGinty claimed the two men blame Mexicans, Muslims and the government for the problems in the country. It’s a strange thing to say about Toomey, who has denounced Trump’s comments in the past and has so far refused to endorse him.
She went on: “And you know what these guys also say: ‘Hand it all over to Wall Street,'” she said.
This statement is just … weird. Do Republicans — or does anyone for that matter — ever suggest handing things over to Wall Street to solve? Democrats often try to tie Republicans to Wall Street, of course, but they don’t make claims suggesting Republicans say they want to let Wall Street run anything.
