Huckabee releases ‘rattlesnake’ ad on terrorism to supporters

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, R, is not allowing Rand Paul and Ted Cruz to have all the fun this week. Today Huckabee’s not-quite-a-presidential-campaign organization sent supporters a new 47-second ad comparing Islamic terrorism to a rattlesnake. In the ad, Huckabee shares lessons from his youth of how to deal with rattlers:



The ad is far less subtle but still just slightly reminiscent of one from Ronald Reagan’s 1984 re-election, which talked about the Soviet Union as a dangerous bear in the woods:



Huckabee has yet to announce his candidacy or an exploratory committee for the GOP presidential nomination in 2016, but he did quit his weekend Fox News television show earlier this year, telling supporters he would be speaking with donors in order to gauge his own support.
