WHO: National Science Foundation
WHAT: It gave a grant to Notre Dame electrical engineering professor Oliver M. Collins, from which he allegedly spent $190,000 on at least seven digital cameras, surveillance cameras, lenses, and an oversize printer. The university says he took the equipment home and used it to produce pornography, which they found on his computers. Notre Dame fired Collins, who denies the accusations and is suing the university for wrongful termination.
WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: This doesn’t sound like the kind of “stimulus” President Obama had in mind.
