Carly Fiorina: ‘I never got a call from Bill Clinton’

Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina snapped back at a question Thursday night about Donald Trump’s higher poll numbers, reminding Fox News host Martha MacCallum that she never received a call from Bill Clinton.

“I didn’t get a phone call from Bill Clinton before I jumped in the race,” Fiorina said, before asking the other candidates if they had received calls from Clinton.

“Maybe it’s because I hadn’t given money to the [Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton] Foundation or donated to his wife’s Senate campaign,” she added.

On the broader issue of Trump’s appeal, Fiorina said he has “tapped into an anger that people feel.”

Fiorina also pointed out that Trump has flip-flopped on amnesty, healthcare and abortion.

“I would just ask what are the principles on which he would govern?”

Earlier today, Fiorina told the Washington Examiner that while she was “a self-made woman,” Trump “inherited real-estate holdings from his father and has gone bankrupt a few times.”

It should be noted that Fiorina spoke at a Clinton Foundation event in Denver, Colo., last year and sits on the board of several organizations with ties to the foundation.
