Dim Bulb: Fred Hochberg

Who: Fred Hochberg, chairman of the U.S. Export-Import Bank.

What: He announced that his agency will increase financial aid to manufacturers of corporate jets.

Why it’s dim: President Obama spent weeks railing against tax breaks for corporate jets — now it turns out he just wants to give them cash in the form of loans to foreign buyers.

Cure: Either stop demonizing the private jet industry, or stop subsidizing it — or even better, stop both.
