Milo Yiannopoulos and the far-left’s ironic Nazi problem

While the DSA did not use violence, their superior numbers and massed formation was evidently designed to intimidate Yiannopoulos into abandoning the Churchill.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m no particular fan of Yiannopoulos and his collection of rather odd and unpleasant viewpoints. That said, I’m far less of a fan of the DSA.

You know why?

Because in their conduct, the DSA render themselves exactly that which they claim to oppose: Nazis.

After all, theirs is vintage Nazi behavior. Don’t believe me?

Then consider some history from the 1920s and 1930s; of Ernst Röhm and his Nazi SA stormtroopers. Because when they weren’t having gay orgies, Röhm and his crew were storming the meetings of political opponents and harassing them into silence. And like 2018’s Democratic Socialists of America, Röhm and his SS successors were servants of ideological supremacism. Indeed, the similarity extends to their names: the Nazi party’s official title was the National Socialist German Workers Party, which bears closely to the Democratic Socialists of America….

Regardless, the simple point here is that the American far-left is embracing increasingly Nazi-esque political conduct. Rather than allowing their political opponents to speak, they silence them in the belief that words are themselves violence. They do so relentlessly and in forums varying from lecture halls to opposition marches to pubs.

There’s another problem here.

Namely, that Bill Maher aside, the far-left zealots often find sympathy from the moderate left. Take the moderate-left’s reaction to last weekend’s Yiannopoulos incident.

Bustle’s Monica Busch declared that Yiannopoulos had “faced the music for what many opponents consider to be his relentlessly incendiary rhetoric.” Busch concluded by celebrating that Yiannopoulos’ “return to the public eye was anything but positive for him. It did, however, gain some laughs from his opponents.”

Left-wing media watchdog, Media Matters, ran a story condemning Fox News’ Tucker Carlson for criticizing those who drove Yiannopoulos out of the bar. Media Matters thus evidenced its belief that liberal fascism is so inherently pure it deserves absolute silent obedience.

Yiannopoulos should have taken courage from the namesake of the bar he sought to drink in. Winston Churchill would never have surrendered under Nazi pressure.
