During an interview Thursday with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos aboard Air Force One, President Obama told the host that the World Cup schedule was affecting his foreign policy moves:
Here’s hoping this was just a joke.
But then again, this is the same man whose White House blamed lousy economic growth on the weather.
UPDATE: He wasn’t joking. “We had elements — which I won’t detail — of our foreign policy that have been shaped around the World Cup,” Obama told Stephanopoulos. “Phone calls meetings initiatives we had to think about.”
